Where are you from?
Abbotsford, British Columbia
How did you end up at Level Ground?
I worked at West Abbotsford Mennonite Church as Administrator from 1989 until 2008. In October 2008, Wellspring Christian Fellowship and West Abbotsford Mennonite Church joined to worship together. January 25, 2009 we formed Level Ground Mennonite Church.
What is your favorite aspect of life/community at Level Ground?
The community and the music.
What do you do in your spare time?
Play with my grandsons, visit with family, bake, cook, read, garden, camp, international travel, walk.

Born and raised in Steinbach, MB.
How did you end up at Level Ground?
I came to Level Ground from Wellspring when Wellspring and West Abbotsford joined together.
What is your favorite aspect of life/community at Level Ground?
I enjoy the warm acceptance and sharing at Level Ground.
What do you do in your spare time?
I enjoy outside activities like cycling, paddling, skiing, snowmobiling.

Where are you from?
Abbotsford
How did you end up at Level Ground?
In 2011, had shared with a friend I was interested in churches in Abbotsford other than the one I had grown up in. She invited me to try Level Ground so I decided to make that my first visit. Never ended up visiting anywhere else!
What is your favorite aspect of life/community at Level Ground?
There's a realness to the people who attend Level Ground. It makes it feel okay to be real, too.
What do you do in your spare time?
Listen to podcasts, read, watch movies, play bass clarinet in a local wind ensemble, and think about cute dogs

KRISTINA TOEWS

My husband and I have made Level Ground our church family since summer 2019. We had recently moved to Canada from Colombia, and at Level Ground we found a welcoming community filled with people who were open to share their lives with us. I love that at Level Ground I can come as I am, and be encouraged in my faith by others just as they are.
I'm thankful that I get to work in Communications with Mennonite World Conference, the global Anabaptist church.
​I speak English and Spanish and most of my spare time is spent chasing and dancing with my two-year-old daughter.
We also love to get outside for walks and eat sushi.

Where are you from?
After climbing my first 40 years, I have now lived in Abbotsford longer than my childhood in northern Alberta, late teens in Saskatchewan and 2 years as a pastor in South Korea.
How did you end up at Level Ground?
Conflict, but this community has been my people for healing and recovery.
What is your favourite aspect of life/community at Level Ground?
We are a confessing church, both of sins and praise and recognize transformation to experience life to the fullest takes time, grace and a welcoming community.
What do you do in your spare time?
Homemaker, witnessing life through the eyes of my two young boys, woodworking, music, road trips. But what spare time?

James is my favourite letter of the New Testament as it reveals my bias for justifying opinions and how I choose to live faith. James is also my least favourite
